New Faculty Appointments at the UHNW Institute

The UHNW Institute is pleased to announce two new faculty appointments.

  • Brad Jesson has been named Chair of the new Financial Management domain.
  • Charles Eckhart joins as a Faculty Member in the Governance & Decision Making domain.

As Chair of the Institute’s new Financial Management domain, Brad will bring his experience as an advisor, family office executive and business leader to the role. We are honored that he has accepted leadership in this important area of the Institute’s work.

Charles’s experience in family engagement, governance and collaborative decision-making will also bring a perspective to the Governance & Decision Making domain. Together, these appointments strengthen the Institute’s Faculty across two important areas of advisory practice.

Brad Jesson

Brad is a Partner and Head of Growth at Corient and is based in the firm’s Toronto office. He works closely with entrepreneurs and multi-generational families, helping them achieve their goals through integrated wealth planning, while also leading the firm’s growth initiatives across the region. Brad’s prior experience includes roles at a CPA firm, a single-family office and a family-owned business, where he served as CFO. He holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. Brad is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and is actively involved in the community, serving with several non-profit organizations, including on the Board of the Toronto Community Foundation. Outside of work, Brad and his husband enjoy travelling and skiing.

Dr. Charles Eckhart is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cathexis Group, a family engagement and governance consulting firm based in Santa Barbara, California. Charles consults with families and couples of significant wealth to catalyze family transitions and establish and evolve practices for effective family governance and collaborative decision making. Charles also consults with financial institutions to build, train and support wealth advisors in family dynamics and governance. Prior to the founding of Cathexis Group, Charles had a career as a Clinical Psychologist, including numerous academic teaching and training roles in doctoral clinical training programs. He contributes publications, presentations and thought leadership in the intersection between family wealth, legacy, governance and relationships.
