New Podcast Episode: A Blueprint for Multi-Generational Success: Building a Coalition of the Willing, Part 1

In this episode of The UHNW Institute Podcast, host Russ Haworth sits down with his fellow co-authors Amelia Renkert-Thomas and Daniel Trimarchi to discuss their white paper, A Blueprint for Multi-Generational Success: Building a Coalition of the Willing.

Together, they examine why the traditional “baton pass” model of succession is giving way to a more inclusive approach, and what it takes to build governance structures that reflect the real complexity of modern family enterprises. They discuss the co-creation of governance frameworks, how to reduce friction during leadership transitions and the practical steps families can take to begin building a coalition of the willing.

Topics discussed include:

  • Why traditional one-to-one succession models fall short for today’s multi-generational family enterprises
  • The role of governance in creating clarity, accountability and smoother leadership transitions
  • How the forums model creates distinct spaces for ownership, board and management discussions
  • The importance of co-creating governance structures with family members rather than imposing them
  • How to address the fears and resistance that often accompany structural change
  • Practical first steps for families beginning their governance journey

Listen to Part 1 of their conversation.
