The UHNW Institute Emerging Leaders Cohort and Mentorship Program, in collaboration with our Institute Educational Partners, is pleased to announce a new 4-part learning cohort with a mentoring component for the emerging leaders within Institute member firms launching June 6th.

The UHNW Institute aims to support youthful talent and fresh voices in the wealth management and family office community by matching mentors with a diverse group of talented emerging leaders who will meet quarterly throughout the year to learn, network and support connection. Self-paced learning opportunities are an added benefit of the program, including Institute learning modules on the Ten Domains of Family Wealth and the ‘Emerging Leader Lunch & Learn Stewardship Course’ from our Educational Partner, Tamarind Learning. Optional extended programs are also available for an additional fee.

We invite member firms to recommend an Emerging Leader, a colleague who shows a talent for working with families— a demonstrated rising star within your organization— to join this inaugural program. Candidates should have 3-7+ years of experience, show dedication, passion, and an eagerness to work with families within multiple domains of family wealth.

Contact Angelique LeDoux to learn more about the Institute’s new initiative to diversify and support new voices and talent within the industry that incorporates education, connection and mentorship or enterprise members can recommend a candidate for The UHNW Institute Emerging Leaders Cohort and Mentorship Program.

DETAILS: Why this program? One of the key takeaways from the 2023 Symposium was a desire to have a diversity of voices in the room, including age diversity, within Institute conversations.

The Institute’s foundation is built upon expertise and wisdom of its members, so the goal of the program is to impart our lessons learned on the next gen within our own organizations and firms. In an effort to elevate diverse voices and empower a community of learning, we hope you will support the selection of a rising star within your own organization to join this inaugural UHNW Institute program.

Target Participants: A diverse mix of 8-15 rising leaders with 3-7+ years within an Enterprise Member organization, who show dedication, passion and an eagerness to work with families within multiple domains of family wealth.

We encourage firms to hand-select their most promising and talented emerging leaders for this program.

Time Commitment: Participants will join 3-4 virtual meetings with at least one in-person opportunity for the cohort to meet one another. Learning opportunities will be self-directed and asynchronous.

Benefits:

Mentorship. We are in the process of selecting mentors, a diverse group of industry experts from our distinguished UHNW Institute membership, who will meet periodically with their mentee. Our goal is to match across firms, rather than internally.

Connection. We strive to build supportive and collaborative networks within the Institute and realize that our best mentoring opportunity is a two-way benefit. We anticipate a strong mentor-mentee connection among Emerging Leaders with their volunteer mentors and encourage firms to join us as we finalize our mentors for this inaugural program.

Education. The program will incorporate asynchronous learning opportunities with the Institute’s Ten Domains Education Modules, a series of short videos, providing an overview of the Institute’s proprietary thinking, with optional domain segments on Risk Management; Learning, Development and Rising Gen; and Health & Well-Being.

Additionally, our Educational Partner, Tamarind Learning, is offering the Emerging Leaders Cohort a complementary introduction course on Stewardship, through an asynchronous online education platform. Emerging Leader participants are invited to a Lunch & Learn with Tamarind Learning and may complete optional coursework on their own schedule, leveraging the platform’s robust curriculum and materials including curated book chapters, thought leader podcasts, interactive activities, and more.

Stewardship is just the beginning! Tamarind Learning is offering the Emerging Leaders cohort members a 50% discount on the Stewardship in Action program including two additional courses – Beneficiary Fundamentals and Trustee Basics. The Stewardship in Action program positions advisors to better understand their client’s perspective, providing them tools and skills to support, coach and retain their clients.
