Institute Spotlight: Arden O’Connor
As part of the Institute’s mission to provide educational content and opportunities to engage with industry experts, the Institute will periodically highlight a member of its faculty. This bi-weekly series will feature all the domain heads for each Domain of Family Wealth. This week, we’re introducing Arden O’Connor, head of the Health & Well-Being Domain.

“The Health and Well-Being Domain is fortunate to collaborate with a diverse team of multi-disciplinary professionals who specialize in psychiatric, medical, developmental and wellness issues. We often include members from other domains in our events because health-related topics impact legal and financial planning and family dynamics. We hope to see you at our event focused on dementia and capacity on May 18!”
In this Institute Spotlight, Arden describes how the Health & Well-Being Domain touches upon all health aspects within ultra-high-net-worth families, such as longer-term planning for those with special needs, family dynamics following a diagnosis and how differing opinions for healthcare within a family system should be addressed.
Through her role as the head of the Health & Well-Being Domain, Arden collaborates with fellow medical experts within The UHNW Institute to provide educational sessions for members. These learning opportunities will tackle everything from the proper steps to take when a loved one receives an intensive diagnosis to ways advisors assist families dealing with dementia and the surrounding dynamics.
According to Arden, some of the trends emerging within this domain include:
- Personalized medical options, including the ability to match medications to an individual’s DNA
- The use of A.I. and technological advances at home to provide real-time data to providers
- Advocacy services that help wealthy clients determine the best options for them or loved ones in any particular healthcare field
