The UHNW Institute’s July Masterclass, “The Awakening of Family Governance: Evolution of Family Enterprise After the Founder,” is now available to members as a replay. Led by Dennis Jaffe, Pat Armstrong and Rebecca Meyer of the Institute’s governance domain faculty, the session explored how families shift from informal, founder-led decision-making toward structured governance.
Jaffe opened with the triggers that prompt change and the common reasons families delay it, arguing that facing those fears directly is often what moves a family forward. Armstrong framed governance as an ecosystem, a network of people, policies and practices tailored to each family, rather than a single document. Meyer closed with a framework for bringing the rising generation in as genuine partners, built around inclusion, agency, engagement, development and dynamics.
A second session, exploring governance in the second and third generation, is coming in October.
