Resources to Help You Understand the LGBTQ+ Landscape

The UHNW Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization. As part of its commitment and values, the UHNW Institute aims to: Provide a collaborative and safe learning environment that helps the wealth management industry better serve increasingly diverse ultra-high-net-worth families.

Consistent with this goal and our theme for June, The Evolving Client, we are pleased to share a few insightful resources that can help advisors understand and serve LGBTQIA+ clients:  an article from Trusts & Estates by Institute member Tim Volk, a wealth planning guide and a financial checklist for LGBTQIA+ families.

This article explains why it is important for advisors to ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices to adjust their approach to assisting families with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, with helpful questions to ask and resources to utilize.

In both lists, advisors will gain actionable steps, considerations and links for all facets of wealth planning to ensure that LGBTQ+ families’ finances are handled in a way that supports their lifestyle, family and values.

We invite members to submit other quality resources on this and other topics for possible inclusion in The Institute’s Resource Library.  If you have questions, please contact us.
